British Columbia is the westernmost province in Canada. Reaching from the Pacific Coast to the height of the Canadian Rockies, it covers a rugged and varied landscape. Dense, lush forests along the coast give way to Canada's only desert in the southern interior. Further north, boreal forest dominates as your near the tundra.
Nicknamed the Evergreen State, Washington is thickly forested in the west and a leading lumber producer in the US. To the east of the Cascades are large rolling expanses of arid steppe, grassland, and farmland. It is here where Washington's famous apples are grown.
