Ascend 5,242 feet from Port Angeles to the crest of Hurricane Ridge. Explore the trails and take in the breathtaking views of the Olympic Massif and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If feeling adventurous, take the 8 mile dirt road out to Obstruction Point and summit Elk Mountian, a brief but rewarding hike.
Once you're ready to leave Hurricane Ridge, make the descent back down to Port Angeles. Spend the remainder of the afternoon traveling to some of the other sites near Port Angeles in Olympic National Park. Waterfalls, summits, and lakes are all within an hour of Port Angeles. The best bet is to head toward Lake Crescent, about 30 minutes to the west. Other options include Port Townsend and Blue Mountain. Later in the Day, head to Sequim.
Spend the evening in Sequim. Take a walk along the coast at the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge, buy some berries at some of the many local fruit farms, and enjoy some seafood. The nearby Hood Canal area is one of the leading oyster producing regions in the nation. Seqium is also one of the top lavendar producers in the US, with many lavendar farms surrounding the town.
