Hurricane Ridge

The easiest mountain area in the park to access, Hurricane Ridge is almost a mile above Port Angeles. From the top, great views are had of both the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Massif. Many short and easy trails head out from the visitor center and if feeling more adventurous, take the 8 mile dirt road up to Obstruction Point and try the climb up Elk Mountain.

• The Hurricane Hill Trail Rehab Project is now underway for 2019. Check the project page for updates and trail status.
• Two 2-Week Mountain Goat Capture and Translocation Operations Planned for July 8-19 and August 19-30. Hurricane Hill Road, beyond the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center parking lot, will be closed to all access during the operational periods. This closure includes the Hurricane Hill Trail, Little River Trail, and Wolf Creek Trail. Klahhane Ridge area will be closed temporarily for visitor and employee safety during capture operations on July 8-9. Check the project page for updates and closure details.
