The Pacific Temperate Rainforests are the largest temperate zone of rainforest on the planet. Pockets of rainforest stretch from the western slopes of the Olympic Peninsula, up along the western coast of Vancouver Island, and as far north as Alaska. While the majority of moisture falls during the winter months, fog is common year round along the coast.
